As the first researcher on the team, I conducted foundational research to inform both immediate business needs and long-term strategic decisions for a product focused on storing personal and sensitive information. My research provided insights into user attitudes, behaviors, and concerns around privacy and data security, helping to shape the core values and guiding principles for the product moving forward.
This experience taught me the unique challenges of establishing a research practice in a large company with established processes, compared to starting a research team in a startup with limited resources and greater process flexibility.
